Blusher Mushroom is a type of poison found in Faerieland.

Description[]

It is a pale fungus that blooms with beads of a red liquid that looks uncomfortably like blood.

Usage[]

In small doses it causes paralysis, while in large doses it causes death, even for the Folk. It is said that when one takes the poison, it makes their body stop working until they die. They aren't dangerous if you don't drink the red liquid.

History[]

When Prince Dain found out Liriope was pregnant, he plot her murder. He ordered The Ghost to poison her with blusher mushroom, provided by Queen Orlagh, and she eventually died because of it.

Jude used the tiniest bead of juice from the blusher mushroom to build up her immunity to the poison.[1] She learns that an antidote can be made with the honey of black-horned bees.

While blusher mushrooms are rare, they do grow wild on the island of Insmire. Jude was able to pick them in the Milkwood.

Oak tells Suren that he when he was cut from his mother's womb when she died, he has blusher mushroom in his veins. This gives him a higher tolerance for the poison and makes him believe that he is poison.
