Enemies & Lovers: The Crown of Elfhame is a card game based around the Folk of the Air. Each card in the deck has a character or element from the Folk of the Air series, illustrated by Frostbite Studios, with the line art by Theo Black. It's a luxe deck of tarot-sized game cards with full color and lots of foil. The project was crowdfunded through Kickstarter.

Gameplay[]

Players: 2-4
Ages: TBA
Playing Time: 15-40 minutes

Enemies & Lovers: The Crown of Elfhame - a fast-paced, lushly illustrated card game of strategy, deception, and betrayal for 2-4 players.

There is only one crown of Elfhame.

Each player starts with three cards. You will have a "Hand" which are the cards you initially draw (or steal) and a "Court" which will consist of cards you've placed face-down on the table in front of you.

As you play, your goal is to assemble your Court so that you have one Coercion Card, one Prince Card and one Conspirator Card. Then, with the Crown Card, you will have manipulated your prince onto the throne (where your conspirator will, no doubt, rule from the shadows) and won the game.

On the way to victory, steal, poison, and spy on your opponent's’ cards as you hide, shield, and set traps in anticipation of their attacks. Each game should take between 15 and 40 minutes, depending on the number of players and how lucky and/or vicious they are.[1]

Components[]

The deck includes 45 tarot-sized cards (2.75 x 4.75 inches), printed on 356 GSM black core cardstock with a linen finish and UV coating. The cards feature full-color artwork by Frostbite Studios. A unique design ensures each card highlights a specific character, creature, or object, accompanied by rules and a quote related to its role in the game. There are two deluxe editions available with metallic gold and green sprayed edges.

Artwork[]

The art is designed by Frostbite Studios, with line art by Theo Black. The backs of the cards are adorned with foil stamps in green and gold.

Some exclusive rewards were limited to only a few backers, such as the Velvet Cruel Prince Special Edition Box.
