It's exactly the sort of place that Oriana warned Taryn and Jude from visiting. It's full of Folk eager to make bargains. It's open only in the misty mornings, when most of Elfhame is asleep. There are many different stalls selling everything one can imagine.
History[]
Jude has been to the Mandrake Market twice before, accompanying Madoc. She visits a third time by herself to find a dress and a mask for the masquerade ball hosted for Lord Roiben by Locke as Master of Revels. While there she passes trays of oysters smoking on a bed of kelp, spun-sugar animals, little acorn cups filled with wine, enormous sculptures of horn, a stall where a bent-backed woman takes a bush and draws charms on the soles of shoes, and many other types of stalls.
While at the Market, Jude also sees Mother Marrow, who offers her soup and bargains with her for a dress.[1]
Before setting off on his quest, Oak visited Mother Marrow at Mandrake Market to gather information on Mellith's heart.[2]
