Nore, also known as Lady Nore, was a faerie and a lady in the Court of Teeth. She was the wife of Lord Jarel and adoptive mother to Suren.

Physical Description[]

Lady Nore is a tall, elegant being with skin the gray of stone. She is identical in looks to her husband. She has long pale hair. She wears a crown of jagged obsidian and elegant and fancy clothes. Lady Nore is beautiful, but has a cruel mouth.

Personality[]

Lady Nore is cruel. She views humans as nothing more than filthy animals. She takes delight in hurting others. Lady Nore views Suren as hers to hurt and punish, but never anyone else's. She punished Suren ferociously for any imagined slight.

History[]

The Queen of Nothing[]

Lady Nore and Lord Jarel formed an alliance with Madoc to take the crown of Elfhame and tried to bargain with Queen Jude of the High Court over a bridle. Her and Lord Jarel, made their daughter Suren Queen of the Court of Teeth, but kept her under complete control until Queen Suren was released by Queen Jude. Jude suspects that Lady Nore used to be Queen of the Court of Teeth, but gave her position to her daughter to avoid swearing loyalty to the High Court.

The Stolen Heir[]

Suren recalls when Lord Jarel and Lady Nore arrived in her human adoptive parents' house. Suren was nine years old. Lord Jarel revealed Suren's true face and name to her, and then enchanted her human family's love away to bring Suren back to the Court of Teeth. It was Lord Jarel who placed the bridle on her.

Since the Battle of the Serpent, Lady Nore has reestablished the Court of Teeth. She has a motley crew of vassals. She has stolen Queen Mab's bones, which she uses to create creatures from twigs, woods, and dead human body parts.

Lady Nore is killed by Suren when she fully comes into her magic.
